RITM SCENAR (Self-Controlled Neuro-Adaptive Regulator) originated in Russia in the 1970s and has continuously been developing since then. It was introduced to the west in 1999. It is CE Certified (2265) for pain reduction in the UK.
The SCENAR sends out minute electrical impulses that are received by receptors in skin. The SCENAR reads the responses to the stimulus. This process is known as reflex biofeedback, an ongoing electrical dialogue between the body and the SCENAR device.
